![]() ![]() As does any new game on Steam, we received homepage placement, a valuable and coveted position. Steam launchĪ Wizard's Lizard launched on Steam June 16th, at $14.99, but this time with a 34% launch discount (actual price: $9.89). From the Humble launch up until the Steam launch, we sold 859 copies. On January 22nd, we launched A Wizard's Lizard on our own website with a Humble widget, selling 516 copies in the first month. If not for them, who knows? Maybe we'd still be slowly crawling up the Greenlight charts. Many votes came from the gaming communities of Twitch streamers CobaltStreak and Lethalfrag. Some of our developer friends have had games on Greenlight for more than a year, so we feel really grateful that we were able to move through this painful process quickly. On January 8th we launched our Steam Greenlight campaign, which was successful on February 19th. ![]() We agonized over this decision, but ultimately felt it was best, as it made the game much more memorable and helped introduce a compelling main character. (He even presented a talk about the business behind the launch, with even more lovely charts and numbers!)Īround this time we also decided to change the name of the game from Crypt Run to A Wizard's Lizard. Greg has been a huge help with marketing, press and YouTube outreach, as well as general consultation. ![]() During the funding campaign, we met Greg Love of Whippering and started working together on marketing and business development. ![]()
